Hey! What's this all about?

Hello! I’m Emman. 🙂
Branding myself as a writer of thoughts and cultures.
There are 2 things that I believe:
(1) There is a wonderful world with amazing people out there.
(2) I am not made for a 9 to 5 job.
So I found Boarding Aisle, a content platform for travel blogs, personal and lifestyles.
Often, I wondered if I can touch the hearts and minds of other people through writing.
I try to convince myself that I’m a writer, although my life is on the other side of that parallel.
So, I made this site to park my stories and hope that it finds you, and somehow, touch your hearts, or pick your brain.
and if we have the same interest, this online crib is for you.
My Mission

Tell stories about culture, travel and experiences.

To make you a ready-to-go and a budget traveler.

Clear out thoughts and spark positive conversations.
Any comments? Or do you wanna reach out?
I’d love to hear from you!
I’ll reply back after 24 to 48 hours. 🙂

From a Mediocre Worker, To Travel Writer
I grew up in the Philippines.
It was not a social norm for us to do what we want when you grow up. We were told to become Engineers, Doctors, Nurses and other professions, hoping to land a job that would pay well and have a decent life.

After 5 years (and counting) in working in the Oil and Gas Industry, I went out of steam and my job was sporadic. My career was not what I had dreamt, or imagined myself into. It was draining too much of my energy and my time was never personal- I spent it all on my job.
I grew up tired and wanting to take control of my life. It was on auto-pilot on a heading where I don’t want to go. I don’t fit in with where I am right now.
Every time I have my downtime, I always want to travel and write. I want to have no boss to answer, waking up every time I want, taking a nap whenever I want to.
Time to burn bridges and take the wheel of my fate. I’m finding my way out of life, trying to find out who I am and carve out my future.
Now, there’s another wall to hit – being a nomad or a travel writer is last on the list (or may not even be on the list) of being a Filipino. You can’t do so much with such a weak passport- we’re 70th on the list. But I come across Badhr Khan, who, despite having the weakest passport (Iraq), has traveled and beat stereotyping.
If Bhadr’s passport weakness is on the 95th of the rank and mine is 70th, so what’s my excuse for not doing this adventure?
Well, now and then, I was privileged enough to travel locally with my family and with my job. It was a shame that I did not see traveling before as opposed to now, rather because I traveled for business and not pleasure. I had to because my family was going. I had to because my boss sent me there to work.
I think I took that for granted. I did not see the beauty, or the privilege handed to me. Now, I’m on a goal to travel with a purpose and to embrace the opportunity once again.
Should I have any work, I hope I can bring it anywhere, wherever I want. I think that will solve my puzzled life, my half-emptied heart.
Every time I think of that, one thing is for sure- I don’t want to have a 9 to 5 job for the next 40 years of my life.
And I want to share it with you to become a better budget and immersed traveler.
